Color of Love Blog Hop 2014 - Day 1

I'm excited to be a part of the Color of Love Blog Hop this year. I support love in all shapes, sizes, and colors. *grin*

My first M/M romance Saltwater Lover was an interracial historical romance, It was published by Liquid Silver Books 12/14 of last year. I can't believe it has almost been a year! Since then I have published two more M/M interracial romances. Perfect Ride a contemporary western romance from Decadent Publishing and a few days ago I self-published Role Reversal an interracial historical romance with BDSM elements.

Why do I like to write interracial romances? I guess because I think interracial couples are hot! If I see an interracial couple on the cover of a book whether it is M/F or M/M I will instantly take a look. It is a selling point to me as a reader, and well I like to write what I like to read.

I am happy to see that interracial romances are becoming more popular in both M/F and GLBT romance markets. I still think there needs to be more diversity in publishing and I strive to come up with unique characters and situations.

There are two types of interracial romances. One type does not make the race of the characters and issue. The other race plays a big role in either who the characters are or the plot. I tend to enjoy the latter better just because they are more complicated and juicy. I like my angst.

Come back to my blog tomorrow for another article on interracial historical romance.

  1. I tend to like my IR where the race is not an issue, but I know there is a difference between the characters. Thanks for participating in the Color of Love Blog Hop.

  2. I'd probably like to read some of both the types.
