I'll be in Mythologically Torqued Anthology Volume 1

I got a new contract today! Weee. I'm doing the happy dance.

My writing partner Eva Lefoy encouraged me to write a short story for the
Mythologically Torqued call by Torquere Press. They were looking for hot GLBT stories based on mythology. This seemed like a fun challenge. I was going to pick one where I could write with my typical historical flair.

Problem was I didn't like any of the more common myths. Eva chose to write about Hercules. He's a hunk, right? I have nothing against the god. *grin*

So I scoured mythology books in the library and sites on line until I came across the perfect myth. The myth of the swan maiden.

Similar to the selikie, this myth involved shapeshifters who could go from swan to human form. If someone stole their garment of feathers then they are unable to escape. Being held prisoner, the females usually became wives and mothers of their captives.

So I took this tale to a Antebellum plantation and the man who captures the swan shifter isn't after a wife. He is after a free slave. The swan shifter has flawless skin so he thinks he'll be a good breeder. Little did the slave owner realize the swan shifter was gay!

It was a fun story to write.

Writing and Editing #Scifi #MM - Linatar's Pet

I've been editing and expanding the M/M short story I wrote last August for the GaySciFi.Books.com challenge. I'm not sure if it will reach full novella length or not, but it is no longer 4k!

I'm still planning a sequel, but considering it has taken me almost a year to edit and expand Linatar's Pet I won't give a target date. Life seems to have a way of Gibbs' smacking me. I suppose an NCIS reference thrown in with a sci fi update isn't exactly appropriate, but who cares.

I improved my cover. It needed a bit of help. I also officially have a blurb. So things are starting to come together. I'm really excited about that.

Blurb:

Arok is a slave. Being a slave is easy. Do what your Linatar masters tell you. Master Labin taught Arok that his purpose was to serve and please the Linatar. Life was simple till Arok was sold to Dantfur, a Linatar with a completely different view, an honorable view, a view that could prove troublesome while bringing Arok unimaginable pleasure.

Would You Love A Monster? #horror #romance

Horror romance sometimes makes me scratch my head. I don't understand the sex appeal of zombies. Frankly I don't understand the sex appeal of ghosts either. They might be hot when they materialize but what is fun when they are invisbile? Hard to drool over thin air!

However, I DO find vampires and demons sexy. I decided to write something a bit different by combining the two into one character Thomas. He works as an undertaker. Isn't that the perfect job for a half vampire, half incubus?

His only problem is in the love department. It will take a special man to love a monster...

Teaser Tuesday - Tempted by the #Vampire #GLBTQ

It is dangerous for a man to fall in love with a vampire. Yet, Aiden can't help himself!

Blurb:

An injured Confederate soldier crawls across a Virginia battlefield to find shelter from the rain. Late at night, he sees the visage of a pale white man dressed in black moving among the dead and dying. When the man heads his way, Aiden is sure his death is imminent. But the man doesn’t take his life. Instead, he saves it. Then, in a quiet moment, they share a kiss.

Haunted by that kiss, Aiden returns to the scene of the battle and searches for the man whose touch he cannot forget. He has no idea he’s putting himself in an even graver danger…

Thomas is a half incubus, half vampire who feeds one side of his soul and starves the other. It is his demon side that has never forgotten Aiden and Thomas has never stopped fantasizing about him. When the man shows up on his doorstep years after the war has ended, his presence threatens Thomas’ rigid self-control and self-imposed scavenger lifestyle. Aiden incites the demon within him, a being that can kill Aiden with sexual pleasure.

Thomas resists the urge to mate Aiden. He thinks he is protecting him but is he actually putting the human in more danger? And when Aiden discovers the demon inside him, will he choose to trust their fragile connection or run?

Here is a teaser from my M/M novella Half Soul

Thomas hovered over him tall body looming over Aiden’s shorter frame. His mouth parted and his incisors lengthened into fangs.
Aiden blinked and gasped.
“See,” Thomas growled. “I’m a monster.”
Aiden raised a finger toward one of Thomas’ long teeth, in a trance. If he touched the fang he’d be able to tell if it was real.
Thomas snapped his mouth shut and Aiden withdrew his finger.
Closing his eyes, Aiden’s muscles turned to jelly and he began to fall.
Thomas scooped him into his arms without warning and with frightening ease, proceeded to carry him out of the sitting room and down a dark hallway.
“It has been a long time since I’ve had a man in my bed,” Thomas mused. The smile brightening his face said he liked the idea very much. The hints of danger were seemingly forgotten.
Aiden’s hands roamed Thomas’ back, delighting in the feel of his muscles.
Being held brought his mouth close to the pale man’s and he claimed Thomas’ lips in a crushing kiss.
As if sensing his hesitation, Thomas knelt at the foot of the bed. “You have entirely too many clothes on,” he said in a guttural voice.

Aiden’s cock ached. God, Thomas’ voice sounded as deep and masculine as a grizzly bear. There was a dangerous air about him. Perhaps he should have listened to Thomas’ warning, but the risks merely increased the excitement.
