Guest Post: Allyson Lindt - Conflict of Interest

I'm excited to welcome my friend Allyson Lindt to my blog today. She is hear to talk about her new release Conflict of Interest... And just in time for Halloween she has lots of treats for you!

It's that time of year. Time to dress up, visit friends, and share tricks and treats. So in the spirit of how we celebrate Halloween, I'm visiting all sorts of blogs this week, in costume, as my characters, and they're talking about how they feel about the holiday. They're writing the posts, and I'm giving away the treats. No tricks. And to one random commenter on today's post, I'm giving away a copy of Shiloh's book, The Virgin Madam (Due out next week. Shiloh didn't know this until she read my post, so, *surprise*, Shiloh!)

How nice of you, Allyson! You're making them wait a few days for the treat. I promise the story will be worth it. ;)

Scott (Conflict of Interest)

Really? We're doing this again? My author is channeling me for your (or her) amusement. Huzzah. *ahem* Sorry, I'll summon a bit more enthusiasm. Thing is, I don't have all the best memories of Halloween. My parents threw large parties that were an excuse to show off, and I snuck away entirely too early from most of them with whatever liquor I could snag from the bar when no one was looking. And we're not talking the cheap stuff, because this was to impress guests. But I'm older now, I've moved past that, and I honestly believe regardless of the past, we make our own, more pleasant memories for the future. There's always a chance to replace what came before with what's happening now. So I take full advantage of the day. I love handing out candy, I like the excuse to let everyone off work early, and it's possible I've stuck a plastic spider or two in the developers' cubes. I can tell you from personal experience, the tough guys scream louder than anyone. Totally worth it. So tell me, what's your favorite way to spend Halloween?

 * Don't forget to visit me all week long, for a chance to meet my characters, and I'm giving away a different book every day, with a grand prize $15 gift card and a copies of my books Unconventional Fling, Conflict of Interest, and Toeing the Line at the end of the week to one commenter across all the blogs (you can earn an entry for each site you visit)

Kenzie propositions a sexy stranger in a coffee shop to prove to herself she’s capable of taking a risk. She doesn’t expect him to be sitting across from her the following Monday as her newest client. Even worse, she can’t stop thinking about what might have happened between them on a personal level if it weren’t for their professional relationship. He knows how to push her buttons, and she doesn’t want him to stop. Scott has built his software company from the ground up to escape things like stuffy old men telling him how to behave, so he loathes his board of directors ordering him to make the public forget he doesn’t have a verbal filter. When his new publicity manager is the almost-fling he never expected to see again, he seizes the opportunity to have fun and still pretend he’s complying with the board’s edict. Giving in to desire could mean both their jobs, but each “one last time” always leads to another. Now they have to decide what they’re willing to sacrifice to indulge this conflict of interest.
